Let's see the auxiliary verbs.  Present Simple Auxiliary Verbs Do and Does We use do and does to express a routine or habits. Simple Past  Auxiliary Verbs Did We use did to express an action that finished in the past in a specific time in the past. Let's compare: Do you work on weekends?  Yes, I work on weekends.
