·  Feeling blue - A feeling of depression or sadness. I am feeling blue because I lost my job.

·  A buck — Slang used for American dollar. It costs ten bucks.

·  Creep (n.) — A weird/strange person. Mike so creep. I don’t like him.

·  Couch Potato — A lazy person who spends most of the time on a couch.

·  Cram — To study busily before an exam. He had a lot of time to study but he didn’t. He crammed yesterday studying from 9 am to 5 pm.

·  Drive up the wall — To irritate. He is always driving up the wall. He is so boring!

·  Going Dutch — When each person pays for his/her own meal. Let’s have dinner together but let’s go Dutch.

·  The cold shoulder — It means ignoring someone. I am a cold shoulder for my boss. I am looking for a new job.

·  Give a ring — To call someone on the telephone. Please give me a ring.

·  Hang out — To spend time with someone in a social manner. Let’s hang out in the shopping mall?

·  Jack up — An increase, typically in the price of something. Books are jacking up these days.

·  Knock — To speak negatively. He is always knocking about his manager.

·  Pass the buck — To transfer responsibility onto someone else. I need to pass the buck to Peter about this report.

·  Piece of cake — It  describes something that is easy. Learning English is a piece of cake.

·  Screw up — To make a mistake, He screwed up not going to the meeting.

·  Sweet — An adjective that describes something or someone that is good, or nice. My sister is so sweet.

·  Tight — It describes closeness between competitors. Coca and Pepsi are tight competitors.

·  Trash — It is used for destruction. He trashed the car.

·  Wrap (something) up — To finish or complete something. Please wrap up this email for me.

·  Zonked — Completely exhausted. I am zonked today because I worked fourteen hours.
